Custom Envelope Printing in Dubai — Everything You Need to Know
A branded envelope is the first thing a recipient sees before your letter is even opened. In a competitive business environment, a well-printed envelope with your logo, brand colours and return address signals professionalism and attention to detail before a single word of your correspondence has been read. At Colordots, we print custom envelopes for corporate offices, law firms, clinics, hotels, schools and government departments across Dubai and the UAE — from small box runs for boutique firms to high-volume direct mail for nationwide campaigns.
Which Envelope Size Do You Need?
DL (110 × 220 mm) is the most widely used envelope size in business — it holds a standard A4 sheet folded into thirds, making it the default choice for letters, invoices, statements and general correspondence. C5 (162 × 229 mm) holds an A4 sheet folded in half — useful when you want a shorter fold or are enclosing two or three sheets. C4 (229 × 324 mm) holds an unfolded A4 page completely flat — the professional standard for contracts, legal documents, certificates, proposals and brochures that must arrive without a crease. Custom sizes are also available for pocket, square and oversized envelope requirements.
Window Envelopes — When and Why
A window envelope has a clear poly aperture on the front that allows the recipient's address — printed on the letterhead inside — to show through, eliminating the need to hand-write or print address labels on every envelope. This is a significant time and cost saving for any organisation sending high volumes of personalised correspondence: invoices, statements, appointment letters or legal notices. We supply DL and C5 window envelopes with the window positioned to align precisely with the address block on standard letterhead layouts, in both left-window and right-window configurations.
Print Coverage Options Explained
Logo and return address only is the most economical option — your brand mark and sender address are printed on the front left panel or rear flap in one or two colours. Full front panel print covers the entire front face of the envelope in your brand colour, with your logo reversed out in white — bold and impactful at low additional cost. Full-bleed wrap printing covers front, back and fold panels in continuous colour or pattern — used for luxury invitations, premium campaigns and brand-forward corporate correspondence where the envelope itself is part of the communication. Interior liner printing adds a colour or pattern inside the envelope, visible when the flap is opened, for a premium unboxing experience.
Closure Types and What They Signal
A peel-and-seal strip has a silicone-coated strip under the flap — peel the backing, fold and press to seal without moisture. It is the most efficient closure for office mailing and preferred for high-volume sends. A gummed flap requires moisture to activate — traditional and secure, though slower for bulk use. A string-and-washer closure uses an interlocking card washer and string to close without adhesive — ideal for reusable envelopes, documents packs and premium presentation folders. A wax seal finish, applied after closure, communicates luxury and exclusivity — suited to invitations, gift vouchers and high-value VIP correspondence.
Direct Mail Envelopes — Driving Open Rates
In a direct mail campaign, the envelope is the first conversion point — if it is not opened, nothing else matters. Full-bleed colour, a teaser message on the front, a strong call-to-action on the rear flap, and a distinctive format (oversized, coloured or textured stock) all increase the probability that a recipient picks up and opens your mailer. We print direct mail envelopes in bulk quantities with consistent colour accuracy across every unit, and can advise on formats, stocks and printing techniques that improve open rates for campaigns targeting consumers and businesses across the UAE.
Artwork & File Requirements
Supply artwork as a vector file (AI or EPS) or high-resolution PDF in CMYK colour mode at 300 DPI, laid out on the correct envelope die-line template with 3 mm bleed. We supply die-line templates for all standard sizes on request. Our design team will review your file, confirm window position and closure type alignment, and send a digital flat proof and a 3D assembled preview before production begins. We can also create envelope artwork from scratch if you supply your logo and brand guidelines.
